solid_meshHere at Fishel we do not sell mesh covers, but often get asked about them. When it comes to a mesh pool cover versus a solid vinyl pool cover there are a few things you should consider. Algae growth is unavoidable with a mesh pool cover! Mesh covers have very little maintenance during the winter and do not need a pool cover pump because the water can easily passed through the cover and into your pool. It’s extremely important to remember with a mesh cover that everything is going into your pool. When you open for the season extra chemicals will be needed, a lot of extra chemicals.

Solid pool covers keep the debris and sunlight out of your pool, greatly decreasing your chance of algae growth. Opening your pool in the summer is a breeze and you won’t break your budget. A solid cover also creates a safer environment. Pool and spa covers should be firm and inflexible. All covers should be strong enough to hold a child who may wonder onto them. We do not recommend walking or play on a solid pool cover, but accidents do happen. Fishel Pools sells Anchor solid vinyl liner pool covers that are safety regulated 14 oz. vinyl coated fabric. Keep your pool area safe and your water clean. This picture clearly illustrates the drastic difference of a pool opening! The solid cover pool was ready to swim the next day, the mesh cover pool had to be drained down and refilled. It was an entire week before it was swim ready. Which would you prefer?
