Tips for Purchasing a Hot Tub

Decide on the size and seating beforehand. How many people would you like to comfortably fit in your hot tub at once? Will you be using the hot tub to entertain large parties or small groups? Or do you plan to use it alone? How much space in your yard or home can you devote to your new spa? What shapes do you prefer? Consider these factors carefully before you start shopping.

Ask about the warranty. Warranties are important, so be sure to ask what type of warranty is provided with your hot tub and what parts are coved. Also, when does the warranty begin: on the day that you buy the hot tub or when the hot tub is delivered? Check for warranties on other parts as well, such as the acrylic lining, pump, and heater.

Look for a high-power circulating system and superb insulation. If you want your spa to remain clean and function properly, it must have a strong circulating pump. Additionally, a well-made hot tub with proper insulation will be able to retain heat much better than other models, which will lower your utility bills.  The type of installation can determine the serviceability of the spa. So as you shop around, keep both circulation and insulation in mind.

Research online, buy in person. The Internet is a great resource if you’re trying to explore the pros and cons of different hot tubs (we recommend that you start here). You can assess all the statistics and features from the comfort of your own home! However, when you’ve narrowed down your choices and you’re ready to make a purchase, visit a showroom. You’ll be able to see the size and quality of the hot tubs in person, climb in your favorites for a test run, ask questions of the salespeople, and discuss maintenance and cleaning supplies.
